Build instructions
Cygwin installation and setup
To build a package on Windows you need cygwin.
- Download Cygwin setup.exe from https://www.cygwin.com/setup-x86_64.exe in this directory.
- Run
make_cygwin.bat buildto install the environment we need to build duplicity underbuild\cygwin_build. - Run
make_cygwin.bat distto build a smaller instance needed for deployment underbuild\cygwin.
Install Node.js and npm
- Install Node.js from https://nodejs.org/en/
- Make sure that npm is also installed.
- Install nw-builder : npm -g install nw-builder
- Note that on some systems node executable is installed as nodejs, and nw-builder fails to start. You will need to change the first line of /usr/local/bin/nwbuild to look for nodejs.
Build duplicity
- You will need python and gnupg. Make sure you have librsync-dev installed. On Windows, these are provided by cygwin installed previously.
- Run make_duplicity.sh; this will build duplicity and collect its dependencies under build/duplicity. Note that on Windows you need to run it with build\cygwin_build\bin\bash.exe.
- If it fails to find librsync, specify its location by setting variable LIBRSYNC_DIR before running the script.
Build the package
-
Run make_package.sh (again, with build\cygwin_build\bin\bash.exe on Windows) to build the nwjs application and collect everything under dist/baas (or dist/baas.app on OSX)
-
Run python bundle.py to make a tar.gz (for Linux) or zip archive (for Windows and OSX). On Windows it must be run as build\cygwin_build\bin\bash.exe -c "/usr/bin/python bundle.py "
